The CTC-7 is our flagship, all-in-one injury recovery and rehabilitation device for medical professionals, athletes and sports organisations. Incorporating Iceless Cryotherapy, Thermotherapy, Contrast Therapy and Compression Therapy into one, unique device, CTC-7 facilitates faster, better recovery for patients.

CTC-7 is used by professional athletes and sports organisations to aid recovery and improve athletic performance, as well as by medical professionals for use with patients who are recovering from injury, surgery or other long-term conditions. But how does it work? This guide explores how the CTC-7 device from G&N Recovery works, and some of the benefits for patients.

What does CTC-7 do?

The CTC-7 provides four different forms of therapy, either individually or in fully-customisable programs to tailor recovery to the needs of your patient.

Cryotherapy

Cryotherapy involves cooling the affected area to reduce inflammation and pain. Various forms of cryotherapy (sometimes known as cold therapy) exist such as using ice packs, ice baths and even cryo chambers that get down to incredibly low temperatures. CTC-7 uses water that’s chilled down to 6°C that’s circulated through specialist wraps for specific areas. This reduces the drips and mess associated with ice packs or ice baths and allows you complete control over the temperature for optimum recovery. The cold temperatures can reduce swelling and pain which in turn can speed up recovery.

Thermotherapy

Thermotherapy uses hot water, heated up to a maximum of 45°C, to improve blood flow, promote tissue healing, and reduce stiffness after injury or exercise. Using our dedicated wraps, the affected area may benefit from improved circulation which can help reduce inflammation and pain. Unlike heat packs, CTC-7 is fully customisable for the perfect temperature.

Contrast Therapy

Contrast therapy combines the positive effects of both cryo and thermotherapy, alternating hot and cold temperatures at a given area. While the cold temperatures constrict blood vessels to reduce swelling and pain, the heat allows them to dilate and deliver fresh, nutrient-rich blood which can promote healing. Unlike alternating between ice packs and heat packs, CTC-7 automatically adjusts the temperature at intervals of your choosing.

Compression Therapy

Finally, CTC-7 also incorporates compression therapy into its repertoire. By providing various adjustable levels of compression, either in conjunction with other therapies or individually, the CTC-7 can help to improve circulation. This can alleviate pain and swelling and improve recovery times. When used alongside other therapies, the effects can be multiplied. Unlike compression socks or garments, the CTC-7 applies compression in a way similar to a blood pressure testing machine. This adjustability allows you to tailor the treatment to your patient’s needs.

Who should use CTC-7?

The CTC-7 device is easily portable and is similar in size to a large shoebox. As a high-tech and specialised piece of medical equipment, it’s aimed at medical professionals, sports organisations and keen athletes who want to maximise their athletic performance.

Medical Professionals

Medical professionals such as physiotherapists, carers or specialist rehabilitators can benefit from owning or renting CTC-7 for their patients. Those who see lots of injuries or people recovering from surgery can utilise the range of therapies and wraps to speed up recovery and reduce discomfort.
